Sentric Music, founded in 2006, is a UK publishing administrator. Its clients include independent writers worldwide, though its strongest presence is in the UK and Europe. Believe bought the company in 2023, and the Sentric name remains in use. The offer is simple: pay nothing to join, then give Sentric 20% of whatever it collects, making publishing administration easy for an indie to start.

Davincii is a US-based Sentric Music alternative. We're smaller, and signup is open. Only the white-glove tier, where we register a complete catalog, requires an invitation. There is no upfront charge, and we take 15% of performance royalties and 20% of mechanicals solely from money we recover.

The quick take: Sentric offers legitimate home-market strength and free enrollment when you or your audience is based in the UK or Europe. For US writers earning mainly in the US, Davincii's non-exclusive sync and 15% performance fee generally produce the better numbers.

This head-to-head uses each business's publicly stated terms available in July 2026. Because Sentric shows its full publishing contract only during enrollment, the contract details cited below come from its published terms and pricing pages. Check its website for the latest language before making your choice.

The main distinction

Both are valid services built for independent songwriters. Geography and scale drive most of the decision.

Open enrollment and white-glove access

Sentric removes almost all initial friction. You pay no setup fee and complete no application. Create the account, enter your works, and collection begins. That ease can be valuable for someone who has never used a publishing administrator and still wonders whether one is necessary.

Anyone can sign up for Davincii as well. Invitations apply only to our white-glove service, where we locate and register a performer's full back catalog. Because that process requires direct manual work, we serve a limited set of indie writers at once. Some people seeking white-glove help will not receive a place this year.

You can therefore begin with either service today. The comparison below concerns the terms you get after joining.

Sentric at 20% compared with Davincii at 15/20

Sentric keeps 20% of royalties it collects across performance, mechanical, and international sources. (Its separate sync pricing is higher and appears below.)

Davincii takes 15% of performance royalties and 20% of mechanicals, and both commissions apply only to funds that actually reach us.

The mechanical rate is consequently the same at both companies: 20%. Performance revenue creates the difference. For a typical writer in the streaming era, the PRO's publisher portion, digital performance, and foreign performance form a substantial part of publishing earnings. Moving from 20% to 15% cuts commission on that stream by one quarter, on every statement, for the full earning life of the songs.

Looking past price: territory, sync, and ownership

Territory carries more weight than it seems

The UK and Europe are Sentric's strong markets. Nearly two decades of work have produced direct connections to PRS for Music in the UK, GEMA in Germany, SACEM in France, and most leading European societies. Being owned by Believe further broadens its reach within European independent distribution.

Sentric can genuinely outperform most US administrators in European collection, including us, when a songwriter lives in the UK or has a sizable European audience despite living in the US. Davincii collects competitively in Europe using foreign sub-publishers, but Sentric has a real local advantage there.

It also works the other way. If you write from the US and earn mainly from US streams and performances, better European reach provides little benefit, while the extra commission simply reduces your payout.

Sync pricing and exclusivity

Both cost and control make the standard administration terms more difficult here.

Sentric applies a different rate card to sync instead of its ordinary 20%. Its published prices say the company keeps half of placements its team finds, producing a 50/50 split, while a placement you deliver for administration costs 15%. Sync is non-exclusive across most territories, but its standard US terms make that right exclusive. Any US writer already represented by another sync agent should inspect this clause before joining.

Davincii claims no exclusive sync right in any territory, and your written approval is required before we license a sync. If you ask us to present your catalog to supervisors, the rate is 35% on a placement we obtain. We charge 20% when you or your agent brings the placement. Existing agents remain yours, and writers handling their own sync can continue doing so.

Sentric's internal team has real value when a writer has no sync connection. Just remember that Sentric takes 50% from a placement it generates, rather than the 20% a writer may expect. Existing US sync representation makes exclusivity the larger concern.

What Believe ownership means

Believe acquired Sentric in 2023 from Utopia Music, its short-term prior owner. The publicly-traded French music company also owns independent distribution operations, including TuneCore and Believe Distribution, along with multiple record labels.

There are benefits and drawbacks to that parent company:

• Benefits: stronger funding, improved technology, a broader sub-publishing network, and connection with Believe's distribution system for TuneCore users.
• Drawbacks: the habits of a corporate publisher, including slower individual replies, limited room to alter contracts, and uniform service across different catalog sizes.

Davincii remains small and independently owned. The person registering your works is also the person replying to your email. Some songwriters care about that, and others will not.

Strengths on each side

Sentric's advantages

The candid version:

• No-cost, application-free signup. It is about as easy to begin as possible.
• A UK/European base. Collection in its core territories honestly beats most US administrators.
• A proven sync department. Writers who neither have nor want to locate a sync agent gain access to Sentric's connections in European and worldwide advertising, film, and television, at the 50/50 rate for placements it gets.
• Scale supplied by Believe. Corporate backing supports the technology, infrastructure, and sub-publisher system.
• Fully self-service access. Anybody can enroll and use the whole product, with no invitation-gated white-glove option.

Davincii's advantages

• Performance royalties carry a lower fee. Davincii charges 15% rather than Sentric's 20% for performance, while each takes 20% from mechanicals.
• Sync stays non-exclusive everywhere. Continue with your agent, seek your own opportunities, or bring us into individual deals. Our 35% rate on a placement we find is lower than a 50/50 division, and you approve every license in writing.
• US expertise with direct service. A person familiar with your catalog checks every registration.
• A cleaner departure. Collection stops firmly after one 12-month period. There is no 18-month sync tail after termination and no continuing charge when de-registration on your end is delayed.
• Independent ownership. The team performing the work makes decisions directly, without approval from a publicly-traded parent.
• Designed around expanding indie catalogs. It was not attached later to a conglomerate of distribution and label businesses.

Situations where Sentric makes more sense

• You live in the UK or Europe, with most listening and performance revenue generated there
• You need publishing administration immediately and do not want an application
• You want a sync agent included with administration because you have none
• You already use Believe or TuneCore and consider integration valuable
• Your catalog's earnings make the dollar impact between 20% and 15% insignificant

For those circumstances, choosing Sentric is reasonable and easy to defend.

Situations where Davincii makes more sense

• You are based in the US and have substantial US listening and performance revenue
• Your streaming catalog is expanding, and you prefer the reduced performance commission
• You use or plan to use a sync agent, so an exclusive US sync grant does not belong in your admin contract
• You would rather speak with someone who recognizes your catalog than enter a support queue
• The invitation-only white-glove service, including a sweep and registration of your full back catalog, would help you

Our recommendation

Already under contract with Sentric? Review the departure provisions closely. Its published terms require 28 days' notice, followed by 6 months of collection, plus an 18-month post-term period on works its team presented. Standard charges can continue on society payments when de-registration is slow. Work out the value of paying 15% instead of 20% on performance revenue, while remembering that each service charges 20% on mechanicals. Then include switching costs such as the notice period, moving registrations, and the statement delay during transfer. A high-earning UK-centered catalog often benefits from staying. For a US-centered catalog, the performance savings and service approach often favor a move.

Comparing them before signing either agreement? Base the choice on location and ease of entry. A writer focused on the UK or Europe who wants immediate access and accepts 20% is well matched with Sentric. Someone centered on the US who wants personal attention and a lower performance rate fits Davincii. Sync pricing, exclusivity, and the rules for leaving follow those two primary considerations.

Whatever you decide, register the songs. Any capable administrator beats having none. After several years, unregistered streaming mechanicals fall into the MLC's black-box pool, and you cannot recover that money.
