SCAPR

Not a CMO you join directly. Coordinates the 60+ national neighboring-rights organizations (PPL, GVL, etc.) that pay performers and recording rights holders. If you're a featured performer collecting internationally, your local neighboring-rights body (PPL UK, GVL DE, etc.) talks to SCAPR-coordinated peer societies via the IPD database.

What SCAPR collects

A neighboring rights society collects on the recording rather than the composition, paying the master owner and the performers on it — a separate pool from songwriter royalties.

SCAPR operates in International (umbrella) and collects umbrella — coordinates 60+ neighboring-rights societies. It was founded in 1986.

Joining SCAPR

SCAPR has no direct membership — you join your local neighboring-rights body. An IPI number is not required to register here.

SCAPR does not publish an open online registration path. Membership is generally arranged directly with the society or through a publisher.

Where Davincii fits

Davincii does not register directly with SCAPR. Membership here is generally limited to residents or is invitation-only, so collection from this territory is handled through our reciprocal society relationships rather than a direct filing.
