SCAPR

You can't join this CMO directly. It coordinates 60+ national neighboring-rights bodies (PPL, GVL, etc.) paying performers and recording rights holders. For featured performers earning abroad, the local body (PPL UK, GVL DE, etc.) connects with SCAPR-coordinated counterparts through the IPD database.

What SCAPR collects

A neighboring rights society collects from the recording instead of the composition, then pays its performers and master owner — using a pool separate from songwriter royalties.

In International (umbrella), SCAPR collects umbrella — coordinates 60+ neighboring-rights societies. SCAPR was established in 1986.

Joining SCAPR

Joining cost: Not applicable: you join your national neighboring-rights society. Royalties are distributed set by each member society. Registration here does not require an IPI number.

No open online registration route is published by SCAPR. Membership is usually set up through a publisher or directly with the society.

Where Davincii fits

Davincii does not file directly with SCAPR. Because membership is generally resident-only or by invitation, we collect from this territory through reciprocal society relationships instead of making a direct registration.
