Adding other names you release under
Add an alias or side project to your account so we find and register the songs released under it, all under your own legal name, PRO and IPI.
If you release music under more than one name, you can add each one to your account. Open the menu with your name at the top of the sidebar, choose Add a songwriter, then Another name I write under. Pick the name's Spotify page, sign, and we take it from there.
An extra name is still you. It uses your legal name, PRO and IPI, and we find the songs released under it. If you want to add a different person, such as a writer you manage, see Adding songwriters you represent instead.
Before you start
Finish your profile first. The new name is filed under the legal name and PRO on your profile, so they need to be there.
Steps
- Click your name at the top of the sidebar and choose Add a songwriter. You can also start from Profile, where it asks Release under other names?, or from the Roster page.
- Choose Another name I write under.
- Find the page: search Spotify for the artist page you release under, and pick it. Only pages you release under belong here.
- Click Continue.
- Sign: read what you're confirming, type your full legal name exactly as it appears on your profile, and tick the box.
- Click Sign and add.
What you confirm
By signing, you confirm that the name is yours and no one else's, and that the songs released under it are yours to administer. That means their publishing isn't already with another publisher, administrator or label. You also authorize us to register and collect for your share of those songs. The full wording is on screen before you sign, with a link to the Terms of Service.
After you add it
The name appears on your Roster marked Under review. We check the Spotify page first. Once it's confirmed, we find the songs and start registering them. There's nothing for you to do.
When your account has more than one name:
- Add a Song asks which Performing name each song is released under.
- My Songs shows every name's songs in one list, each tagged with its name.
- The Roster page shows each name's songs, registrations and earnings.
Royalties from every name are paid into the same account.
Limits
You can add up to 10 names on top of the one you signed up with. A Spotify page that is already connected to another Davincii account can't be added. If it's yours, write to info@davincii.co and we'll sort it out.
To add songs by hand under any of your names, see How to add a song.
Common questions
How many other names can I add?
Up to 10, on top of the name you signed up with. To add more, write to info@davincii.co.
Do I get paid separately for each name?
No. Royalties from every name on your account are paid into the same account.

How to add a song
Add a song from your dashboard: find it on Spotify or type it in, list the songwriters and their splits, and submit it for registration.
Adding co-writers and splits
Save your co-writers once on the Songwriters page, then pick them on any song and give each one a share. Splits must total exactly 100%.
What each song status means
What Draft, Preparing, Filed, Under review, Registered, Action needed and Held mean on My Songs, and why each song has two statuses.
Why a song says Held
Held means another publisher already has the song registered, so we haven't filed it. Here is why, and what you can do.
