ECAD

Escritório Central de Arrecadação e Distribuição

Brazil collects through ECAD, which represents seven affiliated societies (UBC, AMAR, ABRAMUS, SBACEM, SICAM, SOCINPRO, ASSIM). You join one of the affiliates — UBC and ABRAMUS are the most common — and ECAD does the central collection.

What ECAD collects

A performing rights organization collects performance royalties — money generated when a composition is played publicly, whether that's radio, television, a live venue, or a stream.

ECAD operates in Brazil and collects public performance — Brazil. It was founded in 1977.

Joining ECAD

Joining cost: Free (via affiliated society). Royalties are distributed quarterly. An IPI number is required — that's the global identifier that ties a writer to their works, and without one your registrations can't be matched to payments.

Register directly at ECAD.

Where Davincii fits

Davincii handles registration with ECAD as part of standard onboarding — you don't file here yourself. We register your compositions, keep the data matched, and collect what ECAD pays out.
