Smallest of the major US PROs. Invitation-only — they recruit writers they want, you don't apply. If you're not already with ASCAP or BMI and have meaningful catalog, they may reach out.

What SESAC collects

A performing rights organization collects performance royalties — money generated when a composition is played publicly, whether that's radio, television, a live venue, or a stream.

SESAC operates in United States and collects public performance. It was founded in 1930 and reports roughly 30,000 members.

Joining SESAC

Joining cost: Invitation-only. Royalties are distributed quarterly. An IPI number is required — that's the global identifier that ties a writer to their works, and without one your registrations can't be matched to payments.

Where Davincii fits

Davincii does not register directly with SESAC. Membership here is generally limited to residents or is invitation-only, so collection from this territory is handled through our reciprocal society relationships rather than a direct filing.
