SABAM

Société d'Auteurs Belge — Belgische Auteursmaatschappij

Belgian PRO + mechanical society. Bilingual (French + Dutch). Reciprocal partners with most major societies; if you're not Belgian, your home PRO collects from SABAM via reciprocal.

What SABAM collects

A performing rights organization collects performance royalties — money generated when a composition is played publicly, whether that's radio, television, a live venue, or a stream.

SABAM operates in Belgium and collects public performance, mechanicals — Belgium. It was founded in 1922 and reports roughly 40,000 members.

Joining SABAM

Joining cost: €125 one-time. Royalties are distributed quarterly. An IPI number is required — that's the global identifier that ties a writer to their works, and without one your registrations can't be matched to payments.

Register directly at SABAM.
