Spain combines its PRO + mechanical society in SGAE, a leading reciprocal partner to Latin American CMOs. Royalties from Spanish-language songs played in Spain or Latin America frequently arrive there first.

What SGAE collects

Performance royalties are collected by a performing rights organization whenever a composition plays publicly, including on radio, television, a stream, or at a live venue.

In Spain, SGAE collects public performance, mechanicals — Spain + Spanish-speaking territories. SGAE was established in 1899 and reports approximately 130,000 members.

Joining SGAE

Joining cost: €15 one-time. Royalties are distributed quarterly. You need an IPI number — the global identifier connecting a writer with their works, without which registrations cannot be matched to payments.
