STIM

Sweden's PRO + mechanical society offers free membership and pays out eight times a year, alternating between digital and traditional distributions. Alongside PRS and GEMA, it jointly owns ICE Services — the platform handles much of Europe's digital licensing.

What STIM collects

Performance royalties are collected by a performing rights organization whenever a composition plays publicly, including on radio, television, a stream, or at a live venue.

In Sweden, STIM collects public performance, mechanicals — Sweden. STIM was established in 1923 and reports approximately 100,000 members.

Joining STIM

Joining cost: Free. Royalties are distributed eight times a year, alternating digital and traditional sources. You need an IPI number — the global identifier connecting a writer with their works, without which registrations cannot be matched to payments.
