What you need before you sign up

You can create a Davincii account in a few minutes. To finish your profile and add your first songs in the same sitting, have the details below ready. Nothing costs money: there is no signup fee and no subscription.

To create your account

• An email address you check. It is your login, and it is where we send your sign-in and verification codes. You can also sign up with Continue with Google.
• A password of at least 8 characters, if you don't use Google.
• Your legal first and last name. This is what goes on your song registrations.
• The name you release music under. As you type, you can pick your artist page from Spotify.

You must be at least 18 and of legal age where you live. If you are younger, a parent or legal guardian accepts the Terms for you.

If you manage other songwriters, use the Managing songwriters? Sign up here link at the top of the form. You give your company or label name instead, and add your songwriters once you are in. See Adding songwriters you represent.

To finish your profile

After you confirm your email, your profile asks for:

1. The name you release under and your date of birth.
2. Your performing rights organization (PRO), such as ASCAP, BMI, SOCAN, PRS for Music or GEMA. Choose "Other" and type the name if yours isn't listed, or "Not yet registered" if you haven't joined one.
3. Your IPI / CAE number. This is your writer ID at your PRO. You can find it in your PRO member portal or welcome email.
4. Your mailing address.

If you own a publishing company registered at your PRO, have its name and its own IPI number (not your writer IPI) ready. This question is optional. Not sure whether you need a PRO? Read Do I still need ASCAP or BMI?.

To add your first songs

For each song, have:

• The song title.
• The recording: the recording artist and either the ISRC or the recording title. You can pick the track from Spotify to fill these in.
• Every songwriter on the song and their share. The shares must add up to 100%.
• The ISWC, if the song already has one. Our ISWC guide explains what it is.

Add only songs you wrote or co-wrote. If a song is still under an active agreement with another publisher or administrator, wait until that agreement ends before you submit it. Switching to Davincii from another administrator explains why.

Before your first withdrawal

You don't need these to sign up, but you will before you are paid:

• A tax form: a W-9 if you are a US person, a W-8BEN if you are not. The Payouts page walks you through it.
• A bank account for transfers through Stripe, or a PayPal account.
